Universal learning WiFi remote with 365 degree environment and seamless wireless update.
Controls TV great but some features don't workReviewed by Robert C. Rau, 2010-01-24
I found the remote easy to program and the functions all worked when programming was done. I like the upright cradle and the screen. Remote is heavier than normal but really not a problem since it's designed well to fit in your hand. Big Problem - one of it's biggest advertised features doesn't work. AR advertises that you can connect to the internet (remote has WiFi) to the web site "click 365" for news, weather, sports, and even a program menu but "click 365" no longer exists, and the menu icon does not appear on the remote as pictured. Apparently, when contacting Acoustic Research customer service, I was the first to tell them that it looked like their Click 365 internet partner had shut down. They responded that they were checking on it 5 weeks ago and would advise me, but I never heard from them again.
don't buy, don't buy, don't buyReviewed by L. Bailey, 2010-01-10
The guide service and other options such as weather with 365tv have been discontinued. It was awesome having the guide on the remote and picking the channel to go straight to it. Now it is just another universal remote. I have three in my house. The kids are pretending they are play telephones. Booooooo to AR for not keeping this service running and booooo to Amazon for still having it as a feature.
Fine as a remote, but Wi-Fi is currently MIAReviewed by K. Littleman, 2009-12-17
3 Stars because it does its job as a universal remote, 4-5 Stars if
Wi-Fi support is restored.
This remote has worked well for me and has not had any problems
other reviewers here and on other sites mentioned, for example - it
has never lost its configuration even when the battery died, all
devices were supported (including x-box 360), and despite the odd
placement of some buttons, it is nothing that I couldn't train
myself to get used to. The only problems were a couple software
lockups that were easily solved by pushing the reset button in the
back after which it booted back up without issue and the wireless
PCB board became disconnected after a drop from the second floor
(yep, that's what I said), which I easily fixed by opening the case
and simply plugging it back in.
However, as noted in the previous post, the WiFi support through
Click365 is no longer active. This means no TV program guide, no
weather forcast, and no software or firmware updates. Acoustic
Research product support returned my e-mail within a day stating
they were caught off guard and learned of the Click365 service
discontinuation at the same time as customers, but they are
researching alternative solutions. I'm not sure how quickly
something like this can be arranged or how high on their priority
list this project ranks, but I figure I'll give it a couple months,
then request a refund from AR if they don't have a solution in
place. It's amazing how we got used to having that electronic
program guide at our fingertips with favorite program reminders and
such. Hope this gets fixed soon.
As a universal remote, there are others that do the same job with
easier implementations, but if Wi-Fi support is restored by another
company, I would still recommend this over other universals.
DO NOT BUY THIS ITEM - read before buyingReviewed by K. Ness, 2009-12-06
I loved the extra features of this product, which is why I bought
it. Unfortunately the click365.tv, the company that supplies the
Wifi access to the remote must have gone out of business. this is
what is on their website.

been removed from your remote:
*TV Listings / Guide
*Messaging
*Headlines / Click365 (News stories)
*Weather
*Search
*Mine Sweeper
*Online back up of your remote control devices
The device will continue to operate as a remote control.
Furthermore, users of ESPN The Ultimate Remote will continue to be
able to access online services through the browser [...]. We have
deleted all personal information from our database, including your
email address (if registered) and Short ID. Email and text messages
directed to your alias "[...]" will no longer be delivered. We have
also terminated technical support telephone and email
services.
We sincerely apologies for any disappointment that the termination
of the click365.tv service for the above remotes may cause.

They had my email address and could not let me know that the
service was discontinued. They also said they deleted my personal
info, but I could still login to my account via [...]. The remote
still works as a remote, but there are better remotes out there.
They could have at least put a browser on it so I could access the
internet, but now my remote will connect to my wireless but it
serves no purpose.
depressing product....Reviewed by L. andrade, 2009-10-13
WHY EXPRESSING ALL THE FRUSTRATION IN 1000 WORDS. THIS THING JUST DON'T WORK, YOU CAN EXCHANGE 1000 TIMES AND STILL WON'T DO WHAT YOU WOULD EXPECT FROM A REMOTE CONTROL...
